GOING KAYAK CAMPING ON TOMALES BAY?
Our kayaks are available for overnight and multi-day rentals and have room to carry your camping gear, food, and water. Don't have all the gear you need? We also rent individual camping items and complete camping packages.
A few things to know before you go:
-Camping on Tomales Bay requires an advance backcountry permit from Point Reyes National Seashore.
-Boat-in camping is primitive, with no developed campsites, potable water, or facilities at the beaches, so you'll need to be prepared to pack in what you need and pack everything back out.
-Wind, tides, currents, and weather can have a big impact on a Tomales Bay paddling trip. Choosing an appropriate route and timing your paddle around the conditions is an important part of planning your adventure.
-Before your trip, be sure to read the National Park Service's Guide to Low Impact Boat Camping / Know Before You Go for current information on permits, where camping is allowed, sanitation, food storage, fires, and other important regulations.
